Sustainability
Cryopak has many initiatives for offering sustainable re-usability programs to the markets that we serve. It is our goal to provide temperature controlled packaging products that are engineered with sustainable design in mind and can also have an impact on the sustainable acheivement goals of our clients. We are able to offer the majority of our products with re-usability and energy efficiency in mind, through programs that reduce the level of manufacturing and materials that are used to produce products for the cold chain.
Re-use Conditioning Tray Program: eliminates corrugated and reduces conditioning time for the refrigerants.
Phase Change Materials: Cryopak can incorporate our Phase 5™ used for 2-8 applications. This material can reduce the overall weight and volume of the shipper. The PCM can be re-used for future shipments.
Re-Use Refrigerants Program*: Reduces the packaging and pkg. costs through recover y of the refrigerants. Re-Use Corrugated Program reduces packaging and packaging costs through the recovery of the shipper corrugated.
Managed System or Component Recovery Program: Cryopak can set- up and manage the recovery of components or the entire system, inspect and replace as required and circulate back into the supply chain.
TemPak Plus Green: is an eco-friendly, fully biodegradable shipping system that protects your product during the entire shipping duration. Each component will biodegrade when placed in landfills, compost (such as backyard and commercial facilities), buried in ground or other agricultural / erosion-control settings. This shipping system is tested against a summer and winter profile and maintains product temperature for 24 hours at 1-10°C.
Enviro-Ice™: the outer film has the ability to fully biodegrade when exposed to other objects biodegrading around it. These objects can be degrading anaerobically or aerobically such as micro-organisms that make up the ecosystem of the soil or landfill. Cryopak’s specially formulated Enviro-Ice gel packs contain elements that nurtures and feeds this micro-organism community.
