TCP Reliable

Cold chain packaging for shipping pharmaceutical, tissue, blood and other temperature sensitive life sciences products.

Cryopak, a subsidiary of the TCP Reliable Family of Companies, is a provider of cold chain products for the life sciences. Cryopak  helps design, test and engineer temperature controlled packaging for companies in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and blood industries. Cold chain shipping products are needed in the life science industry to help maintain product integrity. Cryopak manufactures gel packs, insulated shipping containers, phase change materials and temperature monitors to ensure that thermal control is maintained throughout the cold chain shipping, handling and storage process.

Cryopak's thermal packaging engineers can create custom cold chain packaging solutions or assist you with one of our pre-qualified packaging designs to ensure that your products will maintain temperature integrity and test them against both summer and winter profiles.

We work with companies of all sizes in the life science industry, from large pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers to local drug stores, blood banks, medical device manufacturers and biotech research companies.

Case Study

Reusing materials and keeping product integrity

A National Pharmaceutical Distribution Company needed to ship their products nationwide at 2-8 degrees C for up to 120 hours to meet manufacturing guidelines. Their product ships from their 3 main distribution to 8 secondary distribution hubs and finally to retail pharmacies. The customer specified that their existing reusable system be used to keep the costs to a minimum.

Cryopak Engineers went to work to simulate the worst case temperature scenario. The products being shipped could experience up to 40 degrees C in a departure city in Southern California and see -20 degrees C in the arrival city in Utah or Colorado.

We built a system that would tolerate up to 60 degree C ambient temperature variations while maintaining the product at 2-8 degrees C. Our solution was a system that included 0 degree phase change and EPS insulation profiled to reduce air flow and maximize space in the customer's existing plastic tote at a minimal cost.

Within 2 months, the customer was in business nationwide their product, helping the environment and their pocketbook at the same time.
