Edison, NJ, March 10, 2023 – Cryopak, a leader in cold chain packaging and temperature monitoring devices, is further expanding its environmentally-friendly shipping solutions in partnership with M. Chasen & Son, Inc. to form Chasen Fiber Technologies.
The joint venture will leverage both companies’ core competencies to introduce a full line of sustainable, recyclable and compostable shipping solutions whose insulated box liners are made from a post-industrial, recycled natural fiber blend and wrapped in a perforated recyclable paper outer sleeve for moisture absorption.
This new line of products has been engineered to achieve the performance of established products in this space and are ideal for addressing customer needs for food & beverage delivery, pharmaceuticals, clinical studies/trials, and in any other industry where products require temperature control.
“This partnership is an important step in our overall corporate pledge to lead the cold chain packaging industry toward sustainability,” said Mark Barakat, General Manager at Cryopak. “Our team is thrilled to be a part of this transformation and contribute to an ever-increasing variety of innovative, validated packaging options that are both environmentally responsible and cost-effective.”
The joint venture comes at a time when sustainability goals are becoming progressively more important to corporations working toward minimizing their environmental impact when transporting temperature-sensitive products.
“For over 90 years and across 4 generations, our company has been in the business of giving new life to post-industrial material in the automotive and other industries, from mattresses to textiles, paper and everything in between. This unique opportunity will capitalize on the production capacity of our 80,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Irvington, New Jersey, helping pave the way for further expansion.” said David Schachman, President of M. Chasen & Son, Inc.
This initiative furthers both parties’ shared vision of sustainability as part of a larger circular economy, building on the success of Cryopak’s Ecopak line of eco-friendly shippers, recyclable and biodegradable gel packs as well as a comprehensive range of reusable refrigerants, shippers and off-the-shelf solutions.
Cryopak, a subsidiary of Integreon Global, manufactures technologies for temperature-sensitive shipping needs, including insulated shipping containers, gel packs, phase change materials and temperature monitoring devices. Cryopak’s primary goal is to protect the integrity of its customers’ products. Serving companies in the pharmaceutical, life science, biotech, food, and electronics industries, Cryopak has locations throughout the United States, Canada and France to serve clients across the globe.
